The Domain registry of Amercia are at it again. Every week I get countless mailings in the post from the Domain registry of Amercia wanting to know if I want to renew my domains with them. The letters have been toned down from what they used to be but they still keep coming.
Along with high renewal costs and the risk of you loosing control of your domain these letters are again playing on those who do not have enough information about what they are ment to do with their domains.
Ideally you should register your own domains with a top level registrar and make changes to it when requested by your web company. The admin email address should be an address not connected with your domain but a free address that does not exprie and that you use for personal mail. This way if your domain expires it the email will still reach you. If you have a third party company managing your domains make sure they are contactable, and that they have documented or listed you as the domain owner.
